Forest Bid Accepted For Routledge

Wayne Routledge is a wanted man after Nottingham Forest also have a bid accepted for the player

This leaves Swansea City and Nottingham Forest to battle out for his services with Leicester City also hovering in the background with Brendan Rodgers worried that he may miss out due to a smaller wage budget than the Championship clubs.

Speaking to the Western Mail, Rodgers said “He (Routledge) has to make his mind up about what he wants to do because I’m sure there are a host of clubs after him – but he would fit into our style.

“We’ll be in the market for certain types of players and pay certain salaries.

“And you can see already that teams in the Championship are able to pay a lot more than us. That’s the nature of it, so life goes on.”

The Swans bid - reported to be around £1.8m - was accepted the other day and personal terms are now under discussion with the club hoping that the lure of Premier League football may yet turn out to be the deciding factor.
