Svensson Allowed To Go Home Without A Farewell
Svensson Allowed To Go Home Without A Farewell

I have often saaid that Saints dont honour their past heroes enough this perhaps proves the point.

After the Norwich game a friend of mine bumped into Mark  Wotte & Michael Svensson in a bar in town, turns out they were having a final drink together after going to the match before Svensson moved his family back to Sweden permanently.

Now Svensson and Wotte for that matter were not bitter and only spoke glowingly about the Club and its fans however when Svensson was absent for a few minutes, Wotte mentioned how sad it was that no one at the club took time out to mention to the supporters that Svensson was leaving or even perhaps took him on the pitch to allow the supporters to show their appreciation of a ex player who was extremely popular.

Svensson it has to be remembered had given good service to Saints not just as a player but as a coach last season helping Saints through a difficult period when they had little in the way of coaching staff for one reason or another. He deserved to be return to England with the best wishes of the fans ringing in his ears, not slinking off as if he never existed.

So from The Ugly Inside I wish Michael Svensson best wishes for the future, his time at Saints wasnt as profitable as we had all hoped it would be due to injury, but he was a true Saint, may he prosper.
