With Saints not playing till the Sunday, why not spend this Saturday afternoon watching one of our local non league sides in action. "STOP PRESS" Kids Go Free At Totton

Perhaps the side most deserving of a bit of support are AFC Totton, this summer has seen a well publicised melt down in their situation, as they like a lot of other clubs at their level struggle to make ends meet whilst competing in a league that involves a lot of travelling and expenses.

They entertain Banbury United at Testwood Stadium with a 3pm kick off and with prices only £9 for Adults, £5 for students and over 65's and now the club have announced that kids under 16 will be admitted free on Saturday for those under 12, they will have to be accompanied by a paying adult, its good value for money in a league that is only 3 promotions away from joining Portsmouth in League 2.

Testwood park has some great facilities including ample parking nearby and a great clubhouse where you can not only have a pint but keep up with the events happening in the Premier League etc.

Eastleigh FC are top of the Conference South and if they keep it up and gain promotion will be Pompey's nearest local rivals next season , they host Concord Rangers at 3pm, tickets are £12 for adults, £7.50 for concessions and £4 for the under 16's, again a reasonable price for a team that could be only one step away from the Football League this time next year.

Last but not least are Sholing, sadly they are away this weekend, but they don't have far to travel, they play on Friday evening at Winchester City with a 7.45pm kick off, this is a top of the table clash with City on top of the Wessex league and Sholing sitting in 4th place, only 5 points behind but with 4 games in hand, Winchester need to win to dent Sholing's title chances, although a win for the Boatmen would really make them the favourites for the title.

So with Saints not playing till Sunday why not pay a visit to your local non league club, they need the money through the gate and if you haven't been before you might just enjoy it.

Totton, even if you stay where you are, it won't be long before you play Pompey. I do so wish David Connolly would leave them.
