Awford's back to Bognor for Pompey squad's next test Friday, 18th Jul 2014 23:20 by pompey-fans.com staff Andy Awford is looking forward to taking Pompey to Bognor for their second pre-season friendly - and will hope for a similar outcome to their first outing, which ended with a 4-0 win at Havant. The Blues are expected again to field more than 20 players to give almost everyone in the squad at least 30 minutes. The visit to Nyewood Lane, where Awford used to be assistant manager, kicks off at 1pm. Pompey won 4-2 at Bognor a year ago in front of nearly 2,000. He told The News: ‘We have a strong Pompey contingent down that way and we want to keep branching out. I stood behind the goal to watch last year’s friendly as I was keeping an eye on the kids who featured. ‘As with the Hawks match, we will be giving game time for everyone who is fit to play. This is about fitness and we want to get more miles in the legs and more air in the lungs, so there will be players turning out for 30 minutes and 45 minutes. ‘Nothing has been decided about the line-up yet, we will sit down and assess who needs what.’
