Swans Set For More Changes
Tuesday, 22nd Sep 2015 06:31 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

The Swans will head into Capital One Cup action against Hull City tonight with manager Garry Monk saying what most of us expected that there will changes in the team line up although maybe not as many as there were against York.

In the second round of the competition the Swans made eleven changes to get past York City to reach this stage but a game against a side towards the bottom of League Two is different to a side that are competing at the top end of the Championship.

That in itself means less changes will be due and more familiar faces in the line up but I would still expect to see the likes of Nordfeldt, Tabanou, Britton and Eder all starting for the Swans but with more first team regulars in between.

Hull's Steve Bruce has also promised changes in what has become the norm now in the earlier stages of the competition and I will almost guarantee you that towards the end of the week there will be some newspaper column inches written about how some teams disrespect the competition given some of the line ups we are likely to see over the next couple of days.

That aside though, Monk is a proud man and I expect him to field a stronger squad and one capable of winning this tie and taking us into Round four.

There are players who deserve to be playing more than they are,” said Monk.

“But I am not here to give players game-time, I am here to pick a team that I think will win the game.

“They are all good enough to play in the starting 11.

“It might be one change, or two changes or more – I will have to decide on what is the best thing to do when I have assessed them.

“But it is about picking a team who I think can get us through.

“It is going to be an extremely tough game, so we want to be strong.”
