Another week, another poor report, another press speculation over the future of Swans boss Garry Monk with this time BBC Sport reporting that the board are considering the future of the manager with Pep Clotet on his way to Brentford, or at least that is what the report is suggesting anyway.

Saturday's 2-2 draw with Bournemouth at the Liberty did nothing to release the pressure on Monk who has seen his side win just once in the last ten outings and fallen ten places down the Premier League table.

The BBC report that "Senior board members" (whoever they may be) are concerned with the lack of wins (who wouldn't be) and that has led them to consider the future of the manager.

In his own programme notes on Saturday, Monk said "It has been disappointing to read and hear some of the things said in certain sections of the media over recent weeks, especially as most of it has been extremely wide of the truth.

"But these things are out of our control and, to be perfectly honest, for as long as I can remember during the 12 years I have been at this club we have never allowed these things to affect us. After all, they come from people of no relevance to this club."

Huw Jenkins also seemed to hit out with his own comments "Looking back over the last few weeks there seems to have been endless coverage in the media having a little pop at things not being quite right within Swansea City.

"This has made me more determined than ever to get us back quickly and focussed on the key points that have helped us get to the level we are today.

"I'm afraid that after our rise over recent years and our continued involvement in the Premier League, I'm convinced there are plenty of people sitting waiting to have their say against us if our performance levels start to drop. We have to accept this will never change while we take part in the Premier League.

"With many of the current media articles trying to expose weaknesses and instability within our football club, it's vital that everyone connected to the club keeps their own counsel in order to stop adding fuel to a fire ready to ignite at any time."

I am sure that the BBC article will not be the last coming up and it could be an interesting week to see if the club come out and make any official comment.
