Refwatch: Barnsley v Dale

Nigel Miller will referee his 17th match involving Rochdale when we travel to take on Barnsley at Oakwell on Saturday.

The experienced County Durham official was thought to be retiring from duty in each of the last three seasons, but gained good enough marks and passed the fitness tests to allow him to still referee at Football League level.

We last saw Mr Miller in April for the 4-2 home defeat to Bradford, while his last Dale away fixture was at Sheffield Wednesday on the opening day of the 2011/12 campaign.

His full list of Dale appointments is:

So far this season Nigel has refereed 18 games, showing 52 yellow cards and three red. His most recent game was Doncaster v Gillingham last Saturday
