The day I took over as RamZone editor, fellow Aussie Mile Sterjovski left the club. Hopefully my tenure lasts a little longer than his in the world of all things Derby County.

First of all I would like to thank Arild for his hard work and dedication to the site that he devoted so much time and passion to for over 12 years. Having written for the site for well over 5 years, I am proud he felt I was capable of stepping into his very big shoes and will do my very best to grow into them.

All Derby fans and readers of RamZone should be thankful for his dedication in keeping a site that is an independent voice for the fans, up and running for as long as it has. This decision is one that will hopefully secure its long term future and allow fans a forum that is put together by people as passionate as you.

It is a daunting task to be charged with continuing the legacy Arild leaves behind but one that I am excited about. Luckily he is not leaving us totally and will be contributing to the site from time to time (once he recharges his 12 year old batteries) and continue to be associated with his beloved Rams.

Being a fan that lives so far away has sometimes been a difficult proposition, especially an outspoken, opinionated one who writes articles for fan websites. Hopefully my decision to take on what at times can be a time consuming position, will convince those who doubt a fan that lives so many oceans away could be genuinely devoted to the Rams. I am as passionate and as loyal a fan as any who live around the corner from Pride Park and from time to time wish I did!

Now Clough Jnr is at the helm with owners who seemingly have things on the right track, including much needed stability, it is an exciting time at the club and one I look forward to covering on RamZone with our fabulous team of writers.

It will be a challenge to not only continue Arild's good work but to build on it with new ideas and features and we can always use your help. I hope to hear from readers if they have any ideas or would like to contribute to the site in any way, so feel free to drop me a line at danj.ramzone@bigpond.com.

Go on… you know you want to… the more Rams fans, the merrier!!
