Leeds band the Kaiser Chiefs will play at Elland Road on Saturday May 24th 2008.

Whilst the decline of Leeds United in recent years has been well-publicised, the rise of Leeds band The Kaiser Chiefs has been phenominal!

Self-confessed whites' supporters, "The chiefs" will achieve every Leeds fans dream on May 24th next year - when they play ER.

Support acts calready onfirmed for this special one-off are The Enemy and Kate Nash. More acts to follow, according to the ad-men.

It is something of a rariety for Elland Road to stage gigs, I seem to remember in the 1980's Queen and U2 played there. The last time ER hosted a gig was way back in the summer of 1991 when Madchester Motley Crew "The Happy Mondays" played to the crowd.

Now lets hope the Kaiser's arrival in May will coincide with the sealing of promotion back to the Championship!

Meanwhile, Leeds have confirmed that should Northampton beat Walsall in their FA Cup 2nd round replay, then Cheltenham will be the visitors to ER instead on Saturday January 5th 2008. Leeds and the Robins have provisionally agreed to bring the fixture forward. If Northampton lose however, then the Cobblers will still be coming.
