Good player was Martin Chivers, tall and commanding striker. Fond memories of him playing for Spurs on their featured ITV Big Match games in the 1970s.

He had a crazy goalscoring record and a great partner in Alan Gilzean. Chivers had the look of a snooty young officer and Gilzean his mad Scottish batman, putting his nut on anything.

I'd hope that the funeral cortege will arrive a split-second late, with style, and in a world of space for the tap-in.

A fine, fine footballer.

RIP. One of those names that was high profile back in the seventies.
Pretty certain he played in the England team knocked out by Poland in 1973 where Brian Clough called their keeper a clown .
My old man used to call Gilzean “ Baldy locks and the three hairs” .
Another fine player though .

Ate in his restaurant once. My Wife worked in Potters Bar and the company took it's employees and spouses out for an evening meal.

Good player in his day who had a difficult act to follow, Jimmy Greaves.

Met him about 7 years ago when I was in a hospitality suite at the new Spurs Stadium. Came across as a nice guy.

RIP Martin.

There should be no need to apologise at all.
