Rest of the Championship thread 25/26

Wrexham won't go up and when they don't then the real gamble happens.

The next shiny thing comes along, as Disney loses interest when the fairytale looks like it will take too long and is too hard.

Now the money has dried up, do they gamble (which they will stupidly do, I believe) and go for it, FFP be damned, or do they actually cut their cloth properly (which risks L1).

Next season will be the real test as Moore will be another year older then.

Sam field
at 09:35 23 Jan 2026

No one is paying £2m for Sam Field. We asked Oxford for £1m, and they went out and got a younger player for half that. Also, if I were Field, I would go "no thanks" and stay at QPR, where, with our injury stats, I am always gonna get some game time.

Don't forget, Hayden gets injured sometimes, too, and he's getting older.

But if someone paid £1m for Field, I would take it as for that money we can get a lower league 22-year-old who maybe the next Sam Field, that's how we got him in the first place.

I would also sell Varane for £5m as well.

For me, these are decent players, but they are not key (Field used to be, but we have moved on as a Squad). If we can raise money to help them find the next Eze or Chair, then we should do it. Thats the risk but you have to do it otherwise L1 is our future.

Oxford nailed their place for relegation from what I saw here. I was impressed they avoided it last season. Not this time.

That's Sheff Wed and Oxford's places sorted, who will be the final relegation team?
I think we can guess it by April.

Jack Currie looked okay for them at LB, I believe hes a QPR fan as well.

Madsen
at 18:47 21 Jan 2026

His skill has never been in question its his effort/stamina that has.

He is unable to get up and down the pitch quick enough, he's not box-box, and that can cost you big time in the Champ if you play him as an 8. Which he did last season and many games it was like playing with 10 men.

Since he's played as a 6 and therefore not required to run back (as he's already in front of the defence), he's been much better.

But against Oxford with Hayden, it became painfully clear, when the Oxford defence cleared the ball, many times their midfield picked it up as they had run back, and ours with Hayden and Madsen did not pick it up as they were too deep and unable to get up and down the pitch quickly enough.

Put in a block against our wingers, and then you see that stifles QPR a lot. If he wants to be Prem, then he will have to run run run a lot more.

Bannan was poor in the game we won 3-0. First time I have seen him be so poor.

I think age may have finally caught up with him.

Hopefully it's only a twisted knee and he's only out for a couple of weeks.

As in this game at LB, he was decent, but the opponent was, of course, the worst. But at least we know he's L1 level.

Dembélé new boo boy?
at 23:36 17 Jan 2026

Our previous boo boy was Madsen, who has survived by being dropped back to a number 6, and it seems he can play there.

Now I think it is Dembélé who is not playing well and is well below his skill level. Also, I think his best position is a number 10, not RW. He's even better on LW for me than RW.

Too many times, he does not run back; he does sometimes, but plenty of times, he does not. Today he lost the ball 3 times and did not run back, one of those was when we were in our own last 3rd, and the defence was under pressure.

This really isn't acceptable, along with losing the ball a lot and also not really creating much. You could say they were all drek poor today, but the constant under pressure QPR defence was decent, along with Madsen.

True, the rest were poor outside the Keeper, back four and Madsen. But at least Smyth (who was also poor) runs back and helps out. Hayden offered little, but at least made a few good tackles. The front two were dreadful, poor, and that must have been Kone's worst game, yet Kone still got two efforts on target.

But Dembélé was the worst, and we have seen him play like this too many times.
Not good enough for me.

If Justin Obikwu is on his way here, then Frey must be defo gone.

If it's cheap, it's a good approach, and selling the Field would be amazing business too. I would be sad to see Field go, solid pro, but if there is money on the table for a medium Champ player, then we should take it in this market.

I will drink when I want to, which is not often, but I don't feel obligated to this nonsense.

Drinking alcohol is not good for you, but neither are all the ultra-processed foods they keep shoving in our faces.

Agreed.

But I feel for those who do not take vaccines and then infect others, there should be some sort of justice for the victims of those disease carriers.

In the US, measles is spreading again due to idiots who are anti-vax. A small number of kids are now dying because parents think they know better than scientists with years of training and experience.

I also find people don't have the basics of what a Vaccine actually is. They think it's something that permanently changes your body against its natural state. This is not so.

Vaccines act as a training simulation for your immune system by introducing a dead version or component of a virus (like a protein or weakened strain) into your body. Which is why we often feel ill when receiving them.

This dead part of the virus (as it's a dead virus) tricks your immune system into believing it is under attack, triggering white blood cells to produce specific weapons called antibodies designed to kill it before it kills you.

Once the body does this, you have then trained your body to retain a memory of these antibodies (which is the natural state of our body); so, if you encounter the real virus or a near variant in the future, your immune system recognises it instantly and deploys its pre-trained antibodies to destroy the virus before it can make you sick and kill you. This is explained in many places.

Here is the part that is not widely explained.

If you don't do this, the risk is that the body develops antibodies that don't kill the virus. This takes time, so the body has to do it again and again, taking more time. In that time, the Virus could ravage your body and kill you. This is what Covid did to people: it killed them before their bodies could kill the virus. It also explains why some people only had mild flu symptoms (they were lucky their bodies recognised the virus and produced antibodies in time).

And it also explains why the vaccines are not 100% guranteed to stimulate the body to create the correct antibodies. The first one available had only about an 85% chance of doing this. That's why we had to have a second jab to reach 95%. There are no guarantees in science, only probabilities.

I prefer the higher probability chance of 95% for surviving a nasty virus to crossing my fingers and hoping for the best, not to mention we need like 85% of the population vaccinated to achieve herd immunity. I don't like death, thanks.

So, in short, they do not mutate you in any way; instead, they train your own body to defend itself.
It's training and practice for your body to defeat the real virus should it encounter it.

That's what a vaccine is.

He's getting better and also he's still scoring.

Dykes scored 12 in his first season and then it was all downhill from there.

Kone has 6 already and remember he did not have a pre-season with us and hes only 22.

His resale value will be massive if he keeps going and it looks like he will.

Morrison going out on loan
at 02:10 15 Jan 2026

AMC is his best position; we have many contenders for that. LB or even LWB, he is not.

The excuse may be Morrison for the WC, but this is a message: you will be sold, and you're out, EDB style.
I think Morrison is decent, but they feel he's done.

I would be surprised if we get £1m for him, but if we do, sell him. In the meantime its a loan to improve his profile and sale price.

I would say Vale will be sold in some sort of deal with another player, this way we can pay Chelscum almost nothing of that 50%.

You know, £6m for Varane and Vale.
Varane in the deal was priced at £5.8m and Vale £200k so, Chelscum only get £100k and a signed photo of Anton Ferdinand =] =] =]

Always been told that everyone is doing Coke, so it's okay, by the Coke users, of course.

Nope, all your mates are doing Coke as the mates you could have who don't dropped you for being at best weird and at worst a completely paranoid nutter chatting garbage all the time.

Also, there is a case for Coke in moderation, not being that devastating to your health, and it's more likely what it cuts that causes cancer. To avoid this, just check the container for the ingredients label to make sure.

Oh, wait, you cannot, as there is no label, as it could be cut with any old cancer-inducing toxic garbage, and ... eventually it will be. I am sure Mr Dealer does not crack one out into the mixture ... well, not much as he's probably impotent most of the time.

Craig Gordon's save

Goes the wrong way initially as well, and then has to adjust to get to the ball to save it.

Top class save.

Note to other keepers, save it around the post, not back into open play!

Scores goals like Gallen, do we care what his hair is?
Nope.

Just keeping playing well and scoring and getting himself larger contracts as a reward, so when we sell him it's for Eze money again.

Simples (as everyone hates that word).

Cat 1. Academy Plans
at 01:49 15 Jan 2026

To be clear, this is great news for reasons many have already mentioned.

But in addition to having a Cat 1, it shows the mummys and daddys of the next Messi that QPR can be trusted to develop their iccle terror, and when they go to Brentford, who is Cat 2? The question gets asked by themselves: Will the Bees really develop our little cherub into a first-teamer?

That's part of the story you need. The other part is showing progression to the first team and success beyond QPR.

Sterling (England), Eze (England), Manning (Ireland), BoS, Kakay, Kolli, Sutton, Walsh, Kelman, Dieng, Bennie, Morgan, Esq, and even Smyth coming back, so the list goes on.

This shows we mean it when we say we can take your boy all the way; we can prove it and do so.
And that's why you should come to QPR.

Also, if you're a rich Arab feeling left out, you can buy us and get us in the Prem as we have it all apart from the new stadium, which you can name after yourself once you build it. In addition, we are near a world-class airport for your private jetS to fly into.

Roll up, roll up.

Sell Jon Varane ?

If its £5m sell him.
He may get better, but if he does it won't be by much.

And with £5m we can buy a replacement for £1m from the lower leagues and £2m for that mythical LB and pocket the rest (which means we may not have to sell again for a while).

Hayden was brought in to do a job, lets get him earning his keep.
