Being realistic and reasonable is a lost art, great post Nix. I recall most fans asking for a year of stability, for once not being involved in the gauntlet that is the bottom of the Championship and here we are, 12th, still 3 points off playoffs. As another poster said, I was also very surprised at the vitriol of some of the support last night, some just lambasting the entire squad of being c*nts. I didn't see any lack of trying in this game, a lack of quality sure, but it's such a young team and I don't see how any of this reaction helps. Reasons to try remain optimistic, that's 3 clean sheets in a row in the league now, Walsh looks reformed and Dunne / Cook have been class. That's a really solid foundation and I don't think it's possible without players giving it their all. Leicester haven't had a clean sheet in 22 games for comparison. The attack whilst disjointed, we have to remember was missing Saito, Poku, Chair, Burrell and now Obikwu. That's an entire Championship attack and a bench option. We have to ride out these next few weeks and give the likes of Bennie our full support, he should be on a League 1 loan and it isn't his fault he is now being called upon. Onto the next, and finally some home games. |

That's the nature of the game these days isn't it, try and find a 10m sale and that can fund 20 of these types. There's inevitably going to be misses as all clubs will never have 100% success with transfers, but especially with our budget it's all about finding these low risk, high potential players. With Obikwu seems like he already has a great physical profile, encouraging personality as you say, does seem to be things the club are looking at more now. I just hope fans can be patient as I'd imagine he may be technically quite raw and will need the experience / coaching. The unknown is quite exciting, looking forward to seeing what he can do |

Neither did I, it's just a message to those writing a player off without giving them a chance. Much prefer us giving a platform to young hungry players compared to the mercenary has beens of the past |

I wonder how many of them knew about Burrell! Fickle fans will be fickle |

Really interesting physical profile from what I can see in the clips, tall and quick. I think we're hoping for a Burrell mk2 with this one, hopefully Cov have made a big mistake |

They've been slowly releasing more over last few days, 5 available as of right now if anyone still needs |

"or just really rates Kolli" or maybe doesn't want to see one of the clubs players profiled by their appearance and ethnicity? One of the brightest prospects out of our academy, one of our own, deserves better. I don't get your comment |

Maybe you're right in this instance because a lot of the Varane abuse is very Madsen-esque from last season. However is any "racial dog whistling" as you say that incorrect when you still have bizarre commentary on big channels like below about Kolli after the West Ham game |

Technically really solid and had some elite passing stats with Brum, like you say would likely mean a departure but his playstyle is definitely more Madsen than either Varane or Field. I think they'd be looking at a midfield depth of: Madsen / Leonard then Hayden / Varane or Field |

This is puzzling to me as he was due to start vs Wednesday but pulled out because of an injury. Admittedly he won't be seeing many starts from now with Edwards / Dunne |

And no Ronnie yet which is quite mad to say again. For the cost of 1 Summerville we would have to go back to signing Kelman in 2020 to reach that amount in transfer fees. Really puts it into comparison Proper proud of our lot yesterday, and the fans who were brilliant throughout |

I also think it's just a complete change in the modern game. I saw that the average amount of high intensity sprints in the Championship is around 70 in 2025, compared to 35 in 2011. That has an impact on every team [Post edited 12 Jan 14:20]

I think we have and I love it. Welcome home Ronnie |

Not really I'm just curious why your constant disparaging posting about the club and players has continued after a 3-0 win, normally you stay logged out for the week? So a game that was 2-1 is the only game you could bring up out of 27 this season. Just another post that you are so confident with but so objectively wrong. Like with your OP, you can praise Sam Field for stepping in with great defensive work which is true but to then use that to further this Varane agenda you have going on is weird. Varane led the team in defensive numbers, we factually did lose some control of the game after the change. It was one of his better games yet you can't stop yourself, like the Mbengue comments in another thread after he's been in great form and is loved by the match going fans |

I'm curious as to when this has ever happened Wombat? We might have to put you up with Julien Stephan's team and get you involved apparently |

I agree wholeheartedly, hasn't been often in recent years we've had an England youth international on the books, he needs the gametime. Just unfortunate he's competing with arguably the POTS so far. Perhaps with the potential long term Burrell injury and Frey leaving we see some fluidity in the system with an extra midfielder, or used as a pressing forward like we saw today (he was actually used like this in pre season also) |

Agree with this, in a midfield 2 you need a proper ball winner and it seems like Varane is getting overlooked recently for his defensive qualities. Would love Morgan to get more minutes in midfield but seemingly the only way that would happen would be for Madsen or if we played with 3 CMs |

Outgoings... Morecambe fans seem to really like him, hopefully he can land at a team in a much better situation |

Ah okay apologies as I missed that. There's someone on socials posting how Southampton are strongarming us for Edwards. I don't see why they would considering he's now their 5th/6th choice CB which is bizarre in itself. My gut feeling is something has to be done, I can't believe he'd be expelled from a squad based on ability |
