An American caller to LBC today
at 18:48 2 Feb 2026

Providing information from an American lady who's been on the American streets very recently. So not my opinion, her facts.

No evidence ? Read her facts.

It's the internet ? Did you not read the post Jack ? It wasn't some nameless keyboard warrior spreading fiction, which appears to be what you're suggesting. An actual real person speaking on the radio giving her evidence as to what is going on in Trump's America.

And what she said about ICE reinforces the reality of the dreadful scenes we've all seen recently showing how they operate.

I'm not assuming WR that Farage would follow Trump's policies but as he's such a fan of his way of governing it's reasonable to suggest to people that he may well do that. And that people should bear that in mind before deciding to vote for him.

And I don't believe that giving people information to help them make up their mind on who they should vote for is scaremongering. To me it's a sensible thing to do.

An American caller to LBC today
at 17:44 2 Feb 2026

The lady who rang LBC was an American of Indian descent. She said that she'd seen the way America was going and decided to migrate to the UK with her two young daughters (I didn't hear what year this was) because she was concerned for their welfare when they'd be older if they were brought up in America.

She talked about a visit to America and was driving around with the person she was visiting. She said the streets were deserted and asked her friend why. The friend said that ICE were in town and everyone was staying indoors

The friend talked about going on one of those 'NO KINGS' protests. A person that wanted to attend who was a government employee was advised not to go on the march because the government had 'spotters' out, the implication being that if he/she was seen to be on the march they'd be in trouble.

The friend also said that because the American birth rate had fallen there was a push to persuade people to have more children. But just for white Americans to have more children.

Bearing in mind that Nigel Farage has so much admiration for Donald Trump it would not be too much of a stretch of the imagination that if NF were to be elected to PM that he may well follow similar policies to DT.

And with that thought in mind I hope that anyone considering voting Reform, whether in the Senedd election or in the next GE, should take all that on board and ask themselves if that is the kind of country they would wish to live in.

Agreed it may be just £3m up front but a guaranteed income over the coming years, depending on milestones, which could be factored into our spending.

I believed PSR was there to prevent Clubs spending money they don't have thus creating debt. If you buy a player and then sell him for a profit it's not debt creation.

That's what I believe. Others can confirm one way or the other.

The ex Tory ministers and probably a few of the other ex Tories I haven't named who would probably end up in a Farage government.

Correct WR.

That's my point. They are looking to Reform to replace the traditional parties. But what's the point of that if they end up with the Conservatives just with a different name.

If they do sell him the real test will come in the summer. They would have £12 m or whatever plus their probably already planned summer transfer spend ready to to invest in the team at the end of the season. And the VIP transfer money would not count toward PSR (?) I believe.

The test would be if they didn't reinvest the £12 million.

REFORM

I had a very brief read today on the history of the Reform party. One particular line stood out for me. It said ‘as of 2025, Reform UK is capitalizing on public disillusionment with the political elite’.

A couple of days ago the odious Suella Braverman defected to Reform from the Conservative party joining Robert Jenrick, Danny Kruger, Andrew Rosindell and Lee Anderson. Also other very prominent Conservatives like Nadhim Zahawi, Nadine Dorries and David Jones. There are many others.

One of the problems Reform has that Farage concedes often is the party’s lack of politically experienced people.

So let’s imagine for a second that Reform was to win the next General Election. Nigel Farage would be Prime Minister and he would have to decide who should be in his cabinet. He would look for experience and logically all the above could/would end up as ministers in that government along with many of the other defectors I couldn’t be bothered to list.

Here’s the quote again ‘as of 2025, Reform UK is capitalizing on public disillusionment with the political elite’.

So the answer to that disillusionment would be to create a government including a huge number of the Conservatives that largely created the disillusionment and that also at the same time almost fatally damaged just about every pillar of society that we depend on. To put it another way, a government of the Conservative ‘political elite’.

We’d be essentially back to square one with a Conservative government in all but name.

Can anyone really want that bunch of shysters governing the country ?

Maybe they shouldn't have the power JON but they do and they have asked.

And as Gwyn says, it's pathetic the Tories complaining when they've already set the precedent. Also when there are Conservative councils making the request, not just Labour.

Over the last few days the utter scumbag Trump has shown exactly why we should look to ourselves for our own security (the only thing I can think of that i'd give him credit for). He's no more to be trusted than Putin.

Zelensky's speech said it all. ' Europe, instead of becoming a truly Global power remains a fragmented kaleidoscope of small and medium powers instead of taking the lead in defending freedom worldwide'.

Friedrich Merz (German Chancellor) - 'Europe has got to be able to defend itself'.

Trump himself is saying the same thing regularly, that it's up to us to defend ourselves. What could be more obvious.

So however it works out, we all have to work together.

And to answer your point Gwyn, if anyone in the UK didn't want us to part of the alliance because they don't like the French then i'd say anyone who says that is a deranged fool.

On a slightly different note, have you heard about the 'rules' in setting up the Board of Peace ? The scumbag has set them as you'd expect. The rules say that the scumbag will be the Chairman of the board for as long as he wants, whether President or not. And when the scumbag decides to step down he will be the one who will decide who the replacement Chairman is.

And the scumbag says that if anyone comes forward saying they want to be a member they'll have to pay 1 billion dollars.

Trump rubbishes Chagos deal
at 22:39 22 Jan 2026

It's a strange world when a lamebrain like Trump can call the Chagos deal an act of stupidity and then invite Putin onto his 'Board of Peace'.

Now that is 'an act of great stupidity'. And if you were to suggest that to him he probably wouldn't understand why anyone would think it.

Amazing.

I completely agree uj. A huge task.

That's why I emphasised the point that whatever the cultural and attitudinal differences, or political or any other difference you care to mention, the problem facing them all is the same.

Imagine for a minute that the Ukraine war is settled and Russia ends up retaining most of the Donbas. Is everyone going to settle down believing that that's the end of the problem ? Or are we all going to be thinking who's next ? And if Putin goes again in a few years time and invades Latvia or Estonia what happens then ?

We'll be having the same conversation and will we all still be saying it can't be done (the European Army).

At what point will we say yes it can be done ?

A number of people have been asking why the usual pre Christmas announcement of info hasn't happened this year.

But it's good to see now that when the details are released in the Spring there will still be the early bird savings kept.
