Liverpool and Spurs Again Linked With Wickham Moves
Liverpool and Spurs have both again been linked with moves for Town striker Connor Wickham. The pair have long been understood to be amongst the front-runners in the chase for the 17-year-old’s signature, along with Chelsea and Arsenal.
According to a tabloid report, the Reds are ready to match Town’s £10 million asking price in January as part of a plan to bring in young British talent.
It’s by no means the first time Liverpool have been mentioned in connection with Wickham with manager Roy Hodgson having been an admirer since his time at Fulham.
Spurs, who made offers of up to £8 million in the summer, have been linked with a £12 million move in January, although that website claim looks like little more than speculation based on previous stories.
Wickham, a Liverpool fan as a youngster, signed a two-year deal with the Blues in April shortly after he turned 17.
Elsewhere, one of Sunday’s tabloids claims Town, Bolton, Everton and Leicester are amongst the clubs interested in winger or striker Kelvin Etuhu, who is said to be on his way out of Manchester City.
The Nigerian spent time on loan at Cardiff last season having previously had similar spells at Rochdale and Leicester.
