James Beattie To Sign For Norwich

As stated yesterday, the rumours are hotting up, Among them is the news that James Beattie will sign for Norwich in January.

32 year old Beattie, formerly of Southampton fame before his record £6m move to Everton started his decline in the game. Premier League spells with Sheffield United and Stoke did not attract any buyers south of the border, so Beattie was signed by Rangers in August of this year. Rangers' first purchase in two years.

Beattie isn't setting the Scottish game alight, either. One web site with Rangers' supporters views have them betting that Santa Claus will make an appearance before Beattie. Or that the Easter Bunny will be named on the team sheet first.

Beattie could do a job for Norwich at trhis level, though. Plus considering the background of our chief scout, Ewan Chester, having been recently in the employ of the Scottish club and Paul Lambert's own playing history, there could possibly be some gristle to chew over with this bone
