Jewell: Martin Has Chance to Impress
Town boss Paul Jewell says it’s up to winger Lee Martin to impress him now that he’s been called back from his loan spell at Charlton. The former Manchester United man had been expected to stay at the Valley until the end of the season before the new Town manager utilised a 24-hour call-back clause earlier in the week.
Jewell said: "Lee gives us another option and we will have a look at him. He's done quite well at Charlton and provides something different. We will see how he gets on, it's up to Lee now.
"He was left out of the team at Charlton on Saturday and there was no point in him being there if he’s not playing. I was going to call him back anyway and he’ll be in the squad and under consideration.”
Meanwhile, former Town loanee Andros Townsend has joined Watford from Spurs for the remainder of the season. The winger had been on a season-long spell with the Blues until he was sent back just before Christmas.
