Jewell: We Can Learn from Derby Defeat

Town manager Paul Jewell says lessons can be learnt from Thursday’s 5-1 home defeat to Norwich City. The Blues boss is looking for his side to bounce back when they travel to Swansea on Monday.

Jewell said: "We can only try and learn from it. Nothing is ever a waste of time. You learn things all the time about yourself, the players and as a team.

"It was an horrendous result for us and for the supporters, who I really feel for, but we have to try and bounce back.”

The Blues boss says the result was a major shock to the system after what had been a decent end to the season: "Obviously we are still feeling hugely disappointed, but we have to get over that disappointment.

"We have had a good end to the season, although of course the Norwich defeat gives us a huge jolt.”

Town could have left-back Mark Kennedy back in the frame at the Liberty Stadium, the veteran Irishman having returned to training last week but Lee Martin will miss the second game of his three-match suspension.
