Wednesday bid for O'Grady rejected
It's been reported today that Dale have rejected a bid for Chris O'Grady from Sheffield Wednesday.
The bid was reputed to be in the region of £200,000 from the South Yorkshire club and all reports state that Dale have turned down the offer. There had been whispers of interest from the Owls for a few weeks now, and unfortunately those whispers got a bit louder.
Of course, a bid of this size will just be seen as testing the water by a club that managed to find over half a million to sign Gary Madine earlier this year, and it will remain to be seen whether we can reject an advance from South Yorkshire of the Summmer at the third attempt.
O'Grady has just twelve months on his contract at Spotland and it is hoped by all Dale supporters that the club can persuade O'Grady to extend his spell at Spotland. With so many changes at the club over the Summer, the presence of O'Grady will be a huge indication to supporters of the club's intent to remain within League One.
