Refwatch Preview: Notts County (h)
Notts County are the visitors to Spotland on Tuesday evening, so TVOS does his usual bit of giving us the low down on this match's official.
Andy Woolmer becomes the second Northampton-based official in successive
seasons to referee Dale’s home game with Notts County as last term Dean
Whitestone took charge as we produced an excellent display to win 4-2.
This will be Mr Woolmer’s fourth game at Spotland. His last visit was last
Easter Monday when Chris Dagnall scored his famous nine-minute hat-trick in the
4-1 defeat of Rotherham.
Just short of a year ago, we had Andy in the middle for the 2-1 loss at
Lincoln.
His full Dale record is:
- 4 September 2004 Grimsby T v Rochdale Won 1-0
- 28 March 2005 Rochdale v Wycombe Drew 1-1
- 27 September 2005 Rochdale v Oxford Lost 0-1
- 6 October 2006 Darlington v Rochdale Won 5-0
- 9 February 2008 Lincoln C v Rochdale Lost 1-2
- 24 March 2008 Rochdale v Rotherham Won 4-1
Andy is in his fifth season on the league list and this term he has refereed
quite a few games at Championship level, including last weekend’s relegation
six-pointer between Southampton and Doncaster.
Up to Saturday (when he was due at Shrewsbury v Darlington), he has overseen
23 matches this season, showing 52 yellow cards and four red.
