Leddy Wins Cap in Defeat
Academy midfielder Jonny Leddy won his eighth Republic of Ireland U17 cap as his side lost their final European Championship elite stage qualifying group game 2-1 to Albania in Venray, Holland yesterday.
The first-year scholar came on as a 57th minute sub having started the previous two games.
Ireland finished bottom of the group having lost all three of their matches, hosts Holland running out the winners on goal difference from Serbia and going through to May’s finals in Slovenia.
