Saints Announce Record Crowd For Saturday's Game

Done let anyone tell you that Saints arent a club thats ahead of its time ! They have just announced that there will be a new record crowd for the visit of Coventry City, a full four days before the game.

Saints previous record attendance at St Mary's before this season was the 32,151 who watched us play Arsenal in 2003, during our last stint in the Premier there were many games were every ticket was sold in the ground including corporate sales, but this was the biggest of the lot.

For the visit of West Ham earlier in the season shortly before the end of the game it was announced that this was a record attendance at St Mary's, with many hearing the crowd given as 32,150, one short of the Arsenal numbers, this was hastily changed at some point in the hours after the game to ensure it was in fact a record.

For Saturday it seems they are taking no chances by announcing that it will be a record crowd, although at this stage they dont seem to have decided by just how many, of course the club may well feel that they have sold more tickets than the previous records, so are comfortable in telling the World that before kick off, in fact they are so confident they have stated that it will exceed 32,300, almost 150 more than the other two records, just where they have found the extra 150 seats from is anyones guess.

In truth St Mary's has around 300- 400 more seats than it can fill on a match day when taking into account segregation and disabled spaces at the front that are often not filled, perhaps they are cutting the width of the segregation net and utilising some of those seats reserved for disabled fans, either wa 150 supporters will feel happy about it as they have got tickets that they previously wouldnt have.

Annual accounts show that the club will have to sell players if we don't go up
The club released the annual accounts for the 2022/3 season this week, and despite the headline figure of an overall loss of £33.7 million, we’re not in danger of any points deduction for now. But the accumulated losses mean that player sales will be inevitable in the summer if we remain in the Championship.
