Leeds in shock old boy swoop?

The Bradford T&A report that Leeds are planning a shock hijack of Bradford Cuty's move to sign our former youth protégée Andy Gray.

Gray, now 34 is the son of Frank and nephew of Eddie. He burst onto the Leeds scene around the disastrous 1996 Coca Cola Cup final and was about the only positive thing to take from a gloomy day out beneath the twin towers.

Gray moved on to Nottingham Forest in 1998 and linked up with Warnock for a productive spell at Sheffield United, I remember him bagging two (I think) against us in a 4-0 win for the Blades. He managed a respectable 25 goals in 59 starts for the Blades and earned a big move to Sunderland.

Released by Barnsley at the end of last season, he could prove to be a useful addition to the Leeds squad as back-up and if there is any substance in the rumours he will probably have to choose between regular League Two football at Valley Parade or more money and a back-up role at Leeds.
