Report by Andy Donaghue
Well it had all the ingredients.....LDV , rain, conference side and the ground in the middle of nowhere. the S.E jacks met up in anticipation of a dire encounter and from a effort perspective the lads in yellow supplied dire at its promising best.

115 jacks made the journey and some from Swansea (these deserve a medal) to witness our patched up side.

I could go on about boro's 10 attempts at goal in the first half but their lack of quality finishing somehow saved us all a trip to highbury to watch the gooners second half.

Our only glimmer of hope was a good move down the right with Thomas heading well past Wilson in the boro goal from a pin point cross.

2nd half

Thinking we should go on and win the game the early part of the second half saw boro sustain long periods of pressure and it was only a matter of time before the defence was breached and a double strike on the hour finished us off.

A double substitution saw Lacey replaced by Jackson and Murphy for wood. Flynn now switched a to 4-3-3 with Murphy joining Thomas and Cash for a 20 min long ball onslaught , sadly the players had no idea of this makeshift formation and the exits beckoned, Murphy came in for some stick for just being Murphy and the game was lost.

  • Cash- Quality Runs , I'll Think We'll Miss Him Already.
  • Thomas- Good Goal But When Is He Ever Going To Get Quality Service To His Feet.
  • Wood- Wind Him Up And Watch Him... Anyway.
  • Murphy- Not A Striker, Not Even A Midfielder Not Quite Sure What !
  • Jackson- A Decent Haircut Wouldn't Go A Miss.

Annual accounts show that the club will have to sell players if we don't go up
The club released the annual accounts for the 2022/3 season this week, and despite the headline figure of an overall loss of £33.7 million, we’re not in danger of any points deduction for now. But the accumulated losses mean that player sales will be inevitable in the summer if we remain in the Championship.
