Flynn Borrows Again From The Champions

Flynn Strengthens Squad From The Champions

It's long been said that Flynn has contacts in the game and contacts don't come much better than Sir Alex himself. It has previously led to Flynn signing Alex's son Darren for Wrexham during his time there and, of course, Alan Tate last season for the Swans. Well, it's back to Old Trafford again to secure the loan signings of both Alan Tate and Daniel Nardiello.

Tate we know all about having spent a large chunk of last season at the Vetch - making 27 league appearances between November and May as the club secured league status at the last gasp. An good defender and distributor of the ball - I am sure some will agree that he has some faults but at the same time he will prove to be a good addition to the squad that has been so decimated through injuries.

Nardiello on the other hand is somewhat of an unknown quantity. His appearances for the Red Devils are listed as three. One league cup start and one league cup substitute appearance.

Manchester United's Official web-site describes Daniel as a prolific striker at youth level for United. His senior debut came at Highbury when he came on as substitute in a Worthington Cup tie and signed professional terms at Old Trafford in 1999. In 2000/2001 he netted 14 times for the Under-19 side in just 20 appearances (9 at substitute)

Both players are 21 and will go straight into the Swansea squad to face Rochdale tomorrow with both of them likely to feature. With Brad Maylett and Lee Trundle both out for a minimum period of six weeks, we have a squad that is heavily decimated with two of our serious attacking threats both sidelined.

It also shows that there is still backing from the directors to act when we need action. Many Swans fans will say that we still need a winger but with re-inforcements at both the back and front being brought into the club immediately following the problems then it shows a willingness to strengthen with the right players.

Whether Nardiello has the ability to perform at this level remains to be seen but you can certainly bank on one thing - you do not remain a professional at Old Trafford for four years without having something about you.
