Swans Travel To Tranmere

Disappointment Again As Swans Draw Tranmere

Disappointment Again For Swans

Yet again despite hopes of a tie against one of the Premiership's elite, the Swans have to make do with a tricky tie away to the second division club. The game is scheduled to take place on the weekend of 14th/15th February and with both Liverpool and Everton at home in the same stage it could even be played as early as a 12.30 kick off on the Saturday dependent on police advice.

The red half of Liverpool entertain Portsmouth whilst Everton will host West Ham at Goodison Park providing they get past Fulham in their replay after a 1-1 draw in front of the toffees fans yesterday.

Initial thoughts suggest that the Swans will only have a ticket allocation at Prenton Park of 2,400 with tickets being available initially to season ticket holders only. If this is sufficient to sell the allocation then non-season ticket holders will be unable to obtain tickets. An announcement is expected both on kick off time and ticketing arrangements before the week is out.

The meeting in the 5th round will be the first time that the Swans have faced Tranmere in the FA Cup. 20 previous league games see the Swans with a slight advantage (6-5) with 9 draws in those meetings. With the prize on offer being a place in the last 8 of the FA Cup then there should be no bigger incentive for the Swans to look to progress? With Tranmere in the bottom third of the 2nd division, there is a chance we can pull off a win which would more than make up for the disappointment of the tie.

Man Utd v Man City or Tottenham

Millwall v Telford or Burnley

Everton or Fulham v West Ham

Liverpool v Portsmouth
