Saints V Cardiff The Preview

Saints welcome back ex Saints boss Dave Jones and his Cardiff City team.

Since Dave Jones left St Mary's nine years ago there have been 10 successors in the managerial chair, 11 if you count the caretaker duo last season of Jason Dodd & John Gorman, indeed Jones must be glad to be out of Southampton Football Club seeing as this will be the fourth different Saints manager he has shaken hands with in the four games played in this season and last.

Hopefully though the smile at the end of the game will be on Mark Wotte's face as Saints look to win two games in a row after ending their St Mary's drought last week and the manner in which they did so suggests that they can continue the good work.

It wont be easy though Cardiff City are unbeaten in the league in three months, however unbeaten runs are there to be ended and if Wotte doesnt tinker too much with the team from last week then the chance is there.

The benefits from a win cant be too strongly stressed, whilst not dragging Saints out of the relegation zone, it will almost certainly bring them wwithin striking distance of those hovering just above but more imporrtantly will give the fans hope.

Wotte should once again stick with his starting line up, and he does have some options from the bench including adding Morgan Scheiderlin.

Finally the fans can play their part, it needs the wholehearted support as shown against Preston, its's a difficult game but if we fans keep wwith the team then things could look  a lot rosier on the pitch by 5pm on Saturday.
