Brendan Rodgers admits that he would be interested in bringing Josh McEachran to the Liberty Stadium

The Swans have been linked with a move for the Chelsea younger in recent weeks and Andre Villas-Boas has admitted that he would consider letting the youngester go on loan in January to gain some experience.

And that has prompted Rodgers to confirm his interest when he told the Western Mail “I need to have a conversation at length with Chelsea

“He is a wonderful talent and the positive is that they see Swansea as a club that can develop such talents.

“So, if he is not getting the game-time, Chelsea will understand he needs to get some.

“If the moment comes that he is allowed to go out then he is a player that would do very well here.

“All I can do is put forward a case of why a young player should come here – and I will continue to do that.

“I want to be in the market for the very best players. We obviously don’t have the money to buy such players, but we can loan players and I am very confident of what we can give such a player here.

“Players at that level need to be coming out and into a side that plays football and understands that way of playing, and also a manager who understands the development of young players.

“It’s something I have done a lot of my life, manage the expectation of players and in particular young players.”
