Has Murty Played His Last Game For Saints

Graeme Murty may have played his last game for Saints

Graeme Murty's future at St Mary's is now in doubt after it was revealed he has undergone another operation on his ankle.

This is now expected to keep him out for the rest of the season meaning that he will be out of contract by the time he has recovered in the summer and with only 6 starts plus a sub appearance for Saints this season due to his injury added to a similar restricted injury total in 08/09 mainly on loan at Charlton, you have to concur that it will be very difficult for Saints to take a gamble on another year for Murty.

It is a shame in that the games he did play were of a good standard and Saints have not really found anybody so far who has shown as much at right back as the Scot.

Murty has been launching an alternative career as a TV pundit in recent weeks, however to be frank, although he comes across as a decent sort of guy, he also did not have a lot of oomph about him, although some of that could be put down to the fact that its hard to give a constructive opinion on your own teammates.

If Murty has played his last Im sure Saints fans will wish him well, as mentioned in the few games he did manage he did well.
