The Opening Game Of The Season Is ..........

At last we can unveil just who Saints will face in their first game of the 2013/14 season in the Premier League.

The wait is over and Saints opponents will be West Bromwich Albion away on August 17th, a week later they follow that up with underland at home on the 24th and Norwich Away on the 31st, before heading into the two week international break.

After that its West Ham at home and Liverpool away in a start that on paper at least looks decidedly easier than last  seasons spell from hell.

Saturday 19th October sees the trip to Old Trafford, assuming of course its not changed for TV and exactly a month later on the 23rd November its the Emirates, followed a week later by another london trip to Chelsea.

The first midweek match is at home to Aston Villa on Tuesday 3rd December which starts a difficult December, Man City at home on the 7th, Newcastle away on the 14th, Spurs at home on the 21st, a tough trip to Cardiff on Boxing Day followed by Everton away on the 28th.

The New Year like this year starts with a home game, Chelsea visit SMS, to complete a month long spell that could be dubbed this years spell from Hell, with 7 games where we will be lucky to pick up 7 points, if fact if we do it will be a result.

The season ends with a home game and for those who dont like co incidences we face Manchester United at St Mary's, exactly the same fixture that saw us relegated in 2005, but then again on the bright side, the last time we faced West Brom on the opening day of the season, albeit at home that time, we ended the season in triumph winning the FA Cup at Wembley, so there are two sides to every story

Leeds United have issued the retained list for the 2024/5 season, and while much of it confirms what we already know, on the face of it there are a couple of surprises.

Today Leeds announced that Red Bull have bought a minority stake in the club, and will take over as the main shirt sponsor, but thankfully there will be no change in the name of the club or the colour of the shirt.

Leeds crush Norwich to cruise through to play-off final
With our recent form being what it was, I was expecting a nervy encounter, with Leeds struggling to get through the Norwich City defence, but how wrong I was! Suddenly we recovered the swagger we have shown for much of the season, and not a moment too soon.
Farke happy with the result after bore draw at Norwich
Many neutrals have complained on social media that yesterday’s game at Norwich City was a bit on the dull side, but the Leeds team wasn't set up to please them. For us it was the result that mattered, and it should leave us in a better position to get through to the final.
Norwich Awaydaze
For the second time this season we are visiting Norwich City, this time for the play-off game at high noon on Sunday, and the kick-off time is of course thanks to our good friends at Sky Sports. You’ll find Carrow Road is about a mile to the south-east of the city centre.
