BMD seeks keeper Cure?

So what should we make of the Darjan Curanovic link?

Darjan Curanovic, the 27-year-old Slovenian keeper who has been training and guesting for Leeds during their tour of his native country has told Sky Sprts news he fancies his chances at Elland Road.

The stopper has previously been linked with Portsmouth and Middlesbrough, so could it finally be third time lucky?

"One of the goalies at Leeds United hurt his arm so they invited me to train with them. If everything goes by the plan there is also a chance for me to sign for Leeds," he said.

"Every player dreams about playing in England so I really hope that this will become reality for me."

At the weekend, the Yorkshire Evening Post reckoned there was no chance of Brian McDermott bringing in the Triglav Kranji keeper, so maybe the lad is trying to talk up some interest in him over here?

Leeds already have three recognised keepers in Paddy Kenny, Alex Cairns and injured Jamie Ashdown, so unless McDermott feels the need to move one of them on I cannot see there being much mileage on this one. However surely Paddy Kenny does not come cheap and there is opinion amongst many fans that Ashdown should be our number one.

Leeds conclude their pre-season tour of Slovenia with a match against Hungarian outfit Ferencvaros, who will be out to avenge the Inter Cities Fairs Cup final defeat of 45 years ago!

Annual accounts show that the club will have to sell players if we don't go up
The club released the annual accounts for the 2022/3 season this week, and despite the headline figure of an overall loss of £33.7 million, we’re not in danger of any points deduction for now. But the accumulated losses mean that player sales will be inevitable in the summer if we remain in the Championship.
