The Fans View - Jordi To Start

Swans fans have voted comprehensively for Jordi Amat to line up alongside Ashley Williams in tomorrow's first home league season against Burnley.

Amat started and starred in last weekend's surprise win at Old Trafford but his place is under threat this week as the Swans signed their most expensive ever defender this week in Federico Fernandez from Napoli.

And we have been asking visitors to the site all week who should start alongside Williams - whether it was Amat, Fernandez or even Kyle Bartley who would also be in the running.

With over 220 votes cast in the poll, Amat was the clear winner with almost 65% of the vote going in his favour with the majority of the rest of the votes landing in favour of Fernandez.

Amat played a brilliant game last week against Manchester United and I have to say that my viewpoint on this one is that we do not change the side for this particular fixture. There may be a temptation to throw Fernandez straight into the action but whilst he is definitely an almost certain starter for the Swans this season for tomorrow I would go with the same line up that started last weekend unless injuries dictated otherwise.

Amat to be fair has never really put a foot wrong when he is in the side and it will be interesting to see how much he features during the course of the season but my vote in this poll definitely went for him to start tomorrow and it seems that the majority of people that voted in the poll agreed with me on this occasion.

The club released the annual accounts for the 2022/3 season this week, and despite the headline figure of an overall loss of £33.7 million, we’re not in danger of any points deduction for now. But the accumulated losses mean that player sales will be inevitable in the summer if we remain in the Championship.
