Championship Review

Welcome back to LFW's Championship review, as we take a look back at the weekends action.

We start with the early Sky game and goals from Akpo Sodje and Marcus Tudgay, secured a 2-0 win for Sheffield Wednesday over bitter rivals, Sheffield United in the Steel City derby, in front of 30,486 fans at Hillsborough. The win will give the Owls plenty of confidence ahead of their FA Cup Replay with Derby this week.

The evening live game, came from Vicarage Road as Watford and Charlton played out a reasonably entertaining 1-1 draw, in treacherous conditions. Al Bangura came of for his first appearance for the Hornets since August, after finally being granted his work permit.

The game of the day, came from the Hawthorns as West Brom and Cardiff drew 3-3. The Baggies were trailing 3-1 after 52 minutes, but goals from Albrectsen and Johnson (OG), saw the home side claim a valuable point and remain, 3 points clear at the top.

Okay, so my home banker prediction went a bit wrong, as Coventry's inconsistant season continued - the team that win one week and lose the next, lost again, going down 2-1 at home to a resurgent Burnley.

Crystal Palace's amazing run continued witrh a 2-0 win over high flying Bristol City at Selhurst Park. The Eagles started slowly under Neil Warnock, but have moved swiftly on with a 15 match unbeaten run and have sneaked into 5th place, almost unoticed. It can be done...
