Now it's Antenucci's turn to use social media to vent his anger

Mirco Antenucci has turned to Instagram in an amazing expletive laden rant presumably frustrated by his recent lack of first team opportunities.

Our joint top-scorer on eight goals with Akex Mowatt has not started a game since our final match of 2014, a 2-0 defeat at Derby and you have to go back a month further for Antenucci's last Leeds goal, ironically against the same opponents.

Since the turn if the year which has seen an upturn in our fortunes, Neil Redfearn appears to prefer either a lone striker or a Billy Sharp pairing with Steve Morison and Antenucci appears to have got the hump.

Translated from Italian, Antenucci ranted on Instagram yesterday": "There are moments where you would like to smash up everything, moments where you see things that are too strange to accept, where you think what the f*** am I doing wrong?

There can be lots of answers or few depending on who you find yourself talking to and if they are taking the p*** or not so much... I have always answered differently to others...

However then the most beautiful thing in the world happens, you get back home and your whole life is waiting for you, all my life!!! Everything that really makes it worth living...I love you to death, thanks for existing. Everything else f*** off."

He appears to be referring to his fall for grace from the Leeds team to the joy his young family bring.

If a tabloid report from last month is to be believed, Antenucci is on a contract that heaviiy rewards him when he scores a goal. The Daily Star reported that he is on a basic wage plus £8000 per goal. Whether or not that is the truth who knows? Maybe Mirco is hoping that his use of social media might get himself back in favour, after all Billy Sharp mischievously re-tweeted fans twitter feeds who were calling for him to get a run in the side.

Sadly I've seen little evidence that the Antenucci/Sharp pairing can deliver the goods for Leeds. Morison's continued inclusion in the squad raises a few eyebrows because he's yet to score for Leeds this season however his phenomenal work-rate and influence on the pitch has won over many doubters who did not initially rate him.

I wouldn't be surprised if Antenucci is pining for his homeland in the summer if he is unable to break-up the Sharp/Morison partnership which is a shame because he has a brilliant first touch, better pace than most of our players and is good at running with the ball. I hasten to add this has nothing to do with me getting his name and number on my away shirt after the Derby win!!!

Many neutrals have complained on social media that yesterday’s game at Norwich City was a bit on the dull side, but the Leeds team wasn't set up to please them. For us it was the result that mattered, and it should leave us in a better position to get through to the final.
