Fernandez Could Head To Valencia?

Wales Online are reporting that Valencia could be prepared to make a move for Swansea defender Federico Fernandez as they prepare themselves for a bid from Manchester United for Nicolas Otamendi.

Fernandez was an instant hit at the Liberty last season, forging an impressive partnership with Ashley Williams in his debut season after arriving in an £8m switch from Napoli.

Valencia are looking at mounting a challenge to Barcelona and Real Madrid at the top end of the Spanish league after being bankrolled by Peter Lim, a Malasyian billionaire. It is a different world from the side that was in turmoil when we triumphed there 3-0 in the Europa League a little under two years ago when there were many protests against how the club was being run.

Reports emerging in the Spanish media now suggest that they could move for the player should the reported release clause in Otemendi's contract be true.

The Swans though are in a position where they do not need to sell any of their prized assets at the moment and it should take a significantly higher bid than the £8m paid to even make them consider cashing in on Fernandez after just one season.

We do know that the club are generally reluctant to stand in the way of any player who wants out and there is every chance that any interest from a club like Valencia could well turn the head of the Argentinian who will be looking to get back his place in the national side.

The media report that he has caught the eye of the Valencia management and they would be keen to add his experience to their side should they have the need

Farke happy with the result after bore draw at Norwich
Many neutrals have complained on social media that yesterday’s game at Norwich City was a bit on the dull side, but the Leeds team wasn't set up to please them. For us it was the result that mattered, and it should leave us in a better position to get through to the final.
