Swans Join Leicester In Jota Hunt?

Brentford's loss in the Championship play offs last season looks set to cost them their midfield playmaker Jota with the Swans now being rumoured to be joining Leicester City in the hunt for his signature.

Jota scored 11 times for the Bees last season as they launched an assault on promotion that ultimately fell short in the play off semi finals. They have lost their manager since the season ended to Glasgow Rangers and it now looks as if Jota could be following him out of the door.

I am not sure of the validity of the Swans reported interest as a midfield playmaker here would be competing with both Gylfi Sigurdsson and Jonjo Shelvey and it is difficult to imagine that he would get into our side ahead of either one of those two?

Jota was the Bees' record signing last summer and the club would be looking for a fee in excess of £5millon for the Spaniard, who has one of the best left foots in the Championship.

Jota is the second midfielder that the Swans have been linked with today and whilst I would say this one is a possibility it has to be said that a move to Leicester on the face of it would be more likely than to us.

Derby and Premier League newcomers Bournemouth are also reported to be interested

Annual accounts show that the club will have to sell players if we don't go up
The club released the annual accounts for the 2022/3 season this week, and despite the headline figure of an overall loss of £33.7 million, we’re not in danger of any points deduction for now. But the accumulated losses mean that player sales will be inevitable in the summer if we remain in the Championship.
