Saints Need To Make Announcement About Vitesse Away Game

Saints need to take the bull by the horns and let supporters know about what the arrangements are for the trip to Vitesse.

Rumours are rife about what the situation will be for the trip to Arnhem in just over a fortnight to play Vitesse, there are many who are saying that the Dutch club are going to give us only 1,200 tickets out of a stadium capacity of 25,000.

That is fuelled by the fact that apparently under UEFA rules home clubs only have to provide 5% of their capacity.

This is creating a panic situation which in turn puts up the chances for trouble at the game.

But not only that, many Saints supporters who want to go but are unsure whether they would qualify for a ticket are not booking up travel till they know, this in turn means that those who are going to go anyway and have no chance of a ticket are booking up travel and hotels and this will push up the price for those waiting to hear.

But the real issue is that social media is full of those claiming to have bough tickets online direct from Vitesse in home areas and this is a serious issue as it increases the potential for crowd problems.

But who can blame Saints fans for doing this, an interim announcement from Saints giving an indication of how many tickets we are likely to get and what the qualification for getting one will be, will o. long way towards steadying nerves.

Given that we have already finalised details with Vitesse regarding the details for the home tie, there is absolutely no reason why we should not have agreed the same for the game a week later in Holland.
