Wagner in tune with Uwe?

Leeds manager set to raid Berlin for giant striker?

Reports originating in Italy claim that Leeds are set to battle with a host of other English clubs including Blackburn and Nottingham Forest for the loan-signing of Sandro Wagner.

The 6' 4" German aged 27 currently plys his trade with Hertha Berlin and despite Leeds having an abundance of forwards, Wagner could be another addition according to an Italian website.

I don't think there will be much mileage in this. In Lee Erwin and Chris Wood, Leeds have paid substantial fees already this summer. We also have Souleymane Doukara and Mirco Antenucci and it's no secret Rosler wants rid of Nicky Ajose and Steve Morison.

Ajose has not even been given a squad number this time round. The ex-Peterborough man who was signed by hapless Dave Hockaday spent most of last season out on loan to Crewe Alexander last season and seems destined to return to the lower-Divisions.

Morison too seems likely to be returning to his favourite old-haunt Millwall for a third spell at the Den but it is understood the player is digging his heels in over money. Morison has a year left on his Leeds deal and would want that paying-off before he returns to his spiritual south London home.

So no, I can't see us being in the market for another striker and this would make about as much sense as Edgar Cani unless we move Ajose and Morro' on during the week.

Annual accounts show that the club will have to sell players if we don't go up
The club released the annual accounts for the 2022/3 season this week, and despite the headline figure of an overall loss of £33.7 million, we’re not in danger of any points deduction for now. But the accumulated losses mean that player sales will be inevitable in the summer if we remain in the Championship.
