West Ham Clearly Hurt Over Ayew

It must be something when you miss out on a player to a club that have offered smaller wages than you and it appears that the hurt West Ham are feeling will not go away after claims made by Jack Sullivan at the weekend.

West Ham were one of a host of clubs who were reportedly in for Andre in the summer but all missed out to the Swans in a move that Garry Monk told us at the time was for football reasons not monetary.

And the pain of missing out must get worse when you realise that the man you wanted to sign has gone on and scored two goals in his opening two Premier League appearances whilst your team has crashed out of Europe to a team nobody has ever heard of and, despite a win at Arsenal on the opening day of the season, is predicted to struggle over the course of the season.

So is it any wonder then that people associated with the club are trying to save face when questioned by their own fans as to why they missed out on the player.

Jack Sullivan, son of West Ham owner David, made the claims on the weekend that West Ham offered Ayew £90k per week but they missed out because Swansea offered £120k per week which - putting it simply - is just not true.

You can see why Sullivan wants people to believe that but the simple fact is the Swans are not paying that much money. It is not right to say how much they are paying Ayew but it is also a reasonably well known fact that it will be less than the £90k West Ham offered and that has to hurt them to find out that sometimes it is not all about money in this beautiful game of ours.

Sullivan was called out by some people for the claim - not all Swansea fans either - but it is only right to refute the claims as untrue and is yet another answer of someone who likes to think they are in the know that they know very little.

Never mind Mr Sullivan there is always Europe for your team....oh, sorry forgot!!

Leeds crush Norwich to cruise through to play-off final
With our recent form being what it was, I was expecting a nervy encounter, with Leeds struggling to get through the Norwich City defence, but how wrong I was! Suddenly we recovered the swagger we have shown for much of the season, and not a moment too soon.
Farke happy with the result after bore draw at Norwich
Many neutrals have complained on social media that yesterday’s game at Norwich City was a bit on the dull side, but the Leeds team wasn't set up to please them. For us it was the result that mattered, and it should leave us in a better position to get through to the final.
Norwich Awaydaze
For the second time this season we are visiting Norwich City, this time for the play-off game at high noon on Sunday, and the kick-off time is of course thanks to our good friends at Sky Sports. You’ll find Carrow Road is about a mile to the south-east of the city centre.
May the 4th not with us as we finish the regular season with a tepid defeat
If we were ever going to have a final day miracle we needed a much better performance than this final day showing against Southampton, so now we have to endure the agony of the play-offs yet again.

Just when we thought we’d turned the corner with that win at Boro, we slipped back into the desperate form of the post-international break period, losing heavily to Queens Park Rangers in this critical game.

Crisis, what Crisis?
As Mark Twain might have said, rumours of the death of our promotion hopes have been greatly exaggerated. Last night’s win at Middlesbrough was a hard watch towards the end, but the vital three points has got our campaign back on track.
