Pompey's blank day is not a bad one after all
Pompey had a blank day after their match at Crawley was frozen off - but they remain just three points off the top three after Carlisle stuttered again.
The Blues were looking to build on last week's 2-1 win over Leyton Orient with their trip to Crawley but despite the use of frost covers and heaters, part of the pitch was deemed unplayable in a morning pitch inspection.
So it was all eyes on the rivals as Pompey fans put their feet up - and although the top two, Doncaster and Plymouth, both won, Carlisle failed to get the better of ten men in a 1-1 draw at Accrington, while Wycombe and Luton drew 1-1 with one another.
The top of the table now reads Doncaster 58, Plymouth 54, Carlisle 48, Pompey 45, Wycombe 43, Luton 42 - but the Blues have a game in hand on both Doncaster and Carlisle.
There's no new date yet for the Crawley visit but next up for Paul Cook's men is a home game with fast-improving Exeter next Saturday.
