Leeds United: Whites Fend Off Stiff Competition to Conclude Pedraza Move

After a frenzied flurry of speculation, Leeds United have concluded a deal that will see Villarreal's prodigious 20 year-old left winger Alfonso Pedraza move to Elland Road - initially on loan until the end of the season.

Sky Sports among other innumerable sources have purported that the Whites have beaten off fierce competition from Real Sociedad and divisional rivals Newcastle United to the signature of the Spanish U-21 international, who notched up seven goals and six assists during a loan spell with Lugo in the Segunda Division earlier in the present season.

Leeds have been afforded the option of electing to make Pedraza's move a permanent one should they attain promotion to the Premier League this season, with Garry Monk's side required to pay a fee of around 10 million Euros to do so.

An official announcement on the club's behalf is expected imminently.

The winger arrives at Elland Road with significant football pedigree to his credit. Not only is he a product of the fabled institution of Villarreal's academy, Pedraza was also a European Championship winner at U-19 level with Spain in 2015.
