Leeds United shall embark upon a short excursion to Nethermoor today; their motives principally concerned with preparing for the new season. It is seldom the case in football, that victory should not be an immediate priority for a manager and his players, but games of this nature serve a clear purpose.
However, pre-season friendlies, though concerned mostly with fitness and preparation, can still prove ample ammunition for opportunistic critics.

On the last occasion that Leeds and Guiseley met, a team comprised mostly of fledgling youngsters inflicted defeat upon the National League side after trailing 3-0. All was well come the game's conclusion, but at the exact juncture at which the Whites conceded the third goal, each of their players was a recipient of odium after an omnishambles of a first-half.
Christiansen and his players will doubtless be keen to avoid embarrassment, with an ideal outcome being as follows; minutes aplenty for players in need of match sharpness, zilch in the way of injuries and victory.
