Carabao Cup: Leeds United presented with third round tie against Burnley
Following a belated third round draw on Thursday morning, Leeds United have been drawn away to Premier League Burnley.
A tortuous Carabao Cup third round draw (that commenced approximately 25 minutes later than it should have done) has seen Leeds United drawn away to Burnley, whom former United talisman Chris Wood disembarked for only days ago.
Leeds saw off the challenge of Newport County by a scoreline of five goals to one on Tuesday night so as to secure their place in this morning's draw, while Burnley were 2-0 victors away to eternal rivals Blackburn yesterday evening.
On the last occasion United contested a fixture against the Clarets, the former were the winners courtesy of a solitary Scott Arfield goal at Turf Moor in April 2016.
Elsewhere, Burton Albion have been pitted against Manchester United at Old Trafford, while Garry Monk's Middlesbrough face a trip to Birmingham as they shall do battle with Aston Villa.
All of the third round ties in the Carabao Cup are to be played in the week commencing September 18.
