Pontus Jansson signs lengthy contract with Leeds United
Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson today became the latest United stalwart to consent to a new contract.
Leeds United's Swedish defensive colossus Pontus Jansson has today acceded to a new five-year contract at Elland Road - only a mere matter of months after signing a three-year contract with United following his permanent transfer to the club from Torino of Serie A.
Jansson, 26, has made 47 appearances since joining Leeds in the summer transfer window of 2016, and he became the latest United player to sign a new contract with the club after Luke Ayling agreed to a new four-year contract last week.
Furthermore, the Swedish international becomes the eighth first-team player to have penned a new contract at Elland Road this season; Ronaldo Vieira, Kalvin Phillips, Eunan O'Kane, Gaetano Berardi, Liam Cooper and Luke Ayling have all already signed new contracts to ensure that they will remain with Leeds for the foreseeable future.
