Leeds United refute KAS Eupen assertion that they have signed Japanese striker
In a quite incredible development, Leeds United have refuted a claim by Belgian Pro League side KAS Eupen that the latter have loaned Japanese striker Yuta Toyokawa from the former.
A BBC Leeds journalist, Adam Pope, has used Twitter to say that Leeds United have told him they have not signed the Japanese striker Yuta Toyokawa following an announcement by KAS Eupen earlier today.
In an earlier statement, Eupen claimed to have loaned Toyokawa, 23, from United, just days after Leeds announced that they were launching a new partnership with Qatar's Aspire Academy.
Eupen had stated via their official website that the forward, who scored ten goals in 38 appearances for J2 League outfit Fagiano Okayama in a recent loan spell, would join their training camp in Doha, hosted by the Aspire Academy, and would be eligible to play for them after "the completion of all formalities".
