Hasenhuttl's Assistant Leaves Club

Ralph Hasenhuttl's assistant Danny Rohl has left Southampton FC on the eve of the season, although this has not been unexpected within the club.

Rohl joined Saints after working with Hasenhuttl at RB Leipzig, but his tenure in England has lasted less than 8 months with the news of his departure.

The circumstances surrounding the announcement are clouded, but TUI was aware that Rohl did not travel to the training camp in Austria and their were rumours back then of a bust up between Ralph and his assistant.

When we learn't of the rumour we chose not to publish back then as it seemed to serve no purpose as apart from the fact that Rohl was not with the squad, then as now we do not know the true reasons behind the situation.

The Daily Echo reports

" that Hasenhuttl will not be looking for a replacement with the manager prepared to be front and centre on his own with his new look coaching line-up providing all the support he feels he needs."

Although this was not unexpected as mentioned in the opening paragraph of this story, the situation seems to have occurred in early July as Hasenhuttl confirmed Rohl would continue as his assistant in the new coaching set-up which was formally released by the club on July 1.

Whether the pair have had a bust up as TUI was told a few weeks back or that there is some other reason personal to Rohl is unclear, indeed it could be that in not appointing a new assistant Hasenhuttl is leaving it open for Rohl to return at some point.

Leeds crush Norwich to cruise through to play-off final
With our recent form being what it was, I was expecting a nervy encounter, with Leeds struggling to get through the Norwich City defence, but how wrong I was! Suddenly we recovered the swagger we have shown for much of the season, and not a moment too soon.
Farke happy with the result after bore draw at Norwich
Many neutrals have complained on social media that yesterday’s game at Norwich City was a bit on the dull side, but the Leeds team wasn't set up to please them. For us it was the result that mattered, and it should leave us in a better position to get through to the final.
