Bazunu Already Following Southampton FC On Instagram

The rumour mill has been turning this week regarding Saints goalkeeping situation and the potential new signing of ex Portsmouth loanee goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu, but Saints fans have been handed a massive clue that his arrival at St Mary's is imminent.

Those Southampton who follow social media may have started to follow Manchester City's Gavin Bazunu of late to look for clues about where he will be plying his trade next season.

If so they would have got it if they had noticed that Bazunu has started to follow the official Southampton FC Instagram account as well as Saints and Republic of Ireland midfielder Will Smallbone.

The Smallbone connection is more obvious, both have featured in Republic Of Ireland squads, but why Bazunu would follow Saints is less obvious unless of course it is because he is about to sign for the club.

In his season at Portsmouth, although he did follow several Pompey players on Instagram, the eagle eyed will have noticed that he never followed Portsmouth on there, even when he was playing for the club.

Bazunu will arrive at St Mary's with a lot of anticipation awaiting his arrival, but we should be cautious, after all goalkeeper rarely mature until they reach the age of 23/4, yet Bazunu has barely registered his 20th birthday and although he has won 10 full caps for the Republic of Ireland, he has just 73 League One Appearances to his name in his career total, is that enough experience to step up into a Premier League side ?

We will of course find out shortly , Bazunu is said to be an immense talent, but then again so was Angus Gunn when he made the same move four years ago, Gunn had played at Championship level and even that is a World away from the Premier League.

Hopefully Bazunu will be well aware of the animosity between Saints & Pompey fans, I hope he isn't thinking of an early shopping trip to Gunwharf Quays after he has joined Saints, he won't find the same welcome there that he enjoyed up until a month or so ago.

Leeds crush Norwich to cruise through to play-off final
With our recent form being what it was, I was expecting a nervy encounter, with Leeds struggling to get through the Norwich City defence, but how wrong I was! Suddenly we recovered the swagger we have shown for much of the season, and not a moment too soon.
Farke happy with the result after bore draw at Norwich
Many neutrals have complained on social media that yesterday’s game at Norwich City was a bit on the dull side, but the Leeds team wasn't set up to please them. For us it was the result that mattered, and it should leave us in a better position to get through to the final.
Norwich Awaydaze
For the second time this season we are visiting Norwich City, this time for the play-off game at high noon on Sunday, and the kick-off time is of course thanks to our good friends at Sky Sports. You’ll find Carrow Road is about a mile to the south-east of the city centre.
May the 4th not with us as we finish the regular season with a tepid defeat
If we were ever going to have a final day miracle we needed a much better performance than this final day showing against Southampton, so now we have to endure the agony of the play-offs yet again.
