Vital Game At AFC Totton On Saturday

AFC Totton is the biggest game on locally at the weekend as they take on League leaders Merthyr Town in what is a 2nd V 1st fixture, it's going to be packed at the Snows Stadium but if you want to watch a game elsewhere here are the fixtures.

If you are hacked off with the premier League and watching defeat after defeat with no real hope of winning, then why not pop along to one of our local non league teams on Saturday.

It is tight at the top of the Southern League Premier South, Merthyr Town are top with 72 points and AFC Totton are 6 points behind with 2 games in hand, so this game is massive and could well decide who wins the the one automatic promotion spot.

A crowd of over 2,000 is expected at the Snows Stadium including around 300 travelling Merthyr supporters.

A win for Totton would swing the chances of automatic promotion in their favour, defeat would make it very hard to catch the Welsh team up.

Buying a ticket in advance is recommended if you are going and it is also cheaper if done before the day, find out more at afctotton.com

Eastleigh is always popular with Saints supporters, but sadly they are away this weekend at Braintree.

Across the City on Portsmouth Road, Sholing take on Hungerford Town in a battle of mid table clubs who still have a feint hope of a late surge to the play offs, a few weeks ago, both were looking over their shoulders nervously, but the Boatmen have won 4, drawn 1 and lost just once in their last 6 games and pulled 11 points clear of the drop zone, however they are 13 points off the play offs with 14 games left to play, so as I say its a feint hope.

Hungerford though are in better form, winning their last 5 games and a draw in the other of the last 6.
