Ken stays - well we knew that already!

Ken Bates can stay at Elland Road, so says a High Court Judge.

Ken Bates was toasting what he called "another little win", after a Judge in the High Court ruled he could stay at Elland Road.

The Yorkshire Post reports that Bates and two other Leeds directors Mark Taylor and Shaun Harvey had applied to be allowed to remain as Directors of the club, following their involvement in the liquidation of the previous Leeds United - which apparently breach insolvency rules.

The judge, Mr Langan QC accepted the application. He then revealed that a junior member of the court staff had received a request that the names of the three remain anonymous at the hearing.

The request appears to be something of a mystery because Mr Bates declared he knew "nothing about it".

The judge stated that he did not know why the request had been made and said: "The public is entitled to know what cases are being heard."

Mr Bates could not resist a sideswipe at his critics in the YEP, claiming his successful application "isn't good news for the people who tried to cause trouble."

Annual accounts show that the club will have to sell players if we don't go up

But the accumulated losses mean that player sales will be inevitable in the summer if we remain in the Championship.
