That's settled then...

After much wailing and gnashing of teeth, the matter of Simon Grayson's controversial Christmas switch across the Pennines was finally settled on Thursday afternoon.

Indeed the more sensationalist lazy journalists (and there are plenty of them) predicted that Leeds would be facing yet another epic punishment, akin to being crucified for the alleged poaching of Simon Grayson.

Hefty fines, sanctions, points deductions, sodom and gomorrah et al was coming our way - but in the end as so often is the case it was settled out of court and Leeds and Blackpool are best of friends again!

Speaking on behalf of Leeds, Shaun Harvey said: "We are delighted the matter is now resolved and Simon can continue with the work he has started in seeking to get the club promoted."

And Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston, who described Leeds as "a trigger-happy bunch" in the aftermath of Grayson's departure even wished us good luck for the future. Oyston said: "We are pleased to have resolved this matter. We wish Simon and Leeds well for the future."

Both clubs have agreed to keep the settlement-figure secret. Whatever it was, lets hope Grayson proves to be worth every penny at the end of the season.

Annual accounts show that the club will have to sell players if we don't go up
The club released the annual accounts for the 2022/3 season this week, and despite the headline figure of an overall loss of £33.7 million, we’re not in danger of any points deduction for now. But the accumulated losses mean that player sales will be inevitable in the summer if we remain in the Championship.
