John Askey put on his boots for the final time in 2003 when the Silkmen met Rochdale at the Moss Rose. Not only did he play the last 17 minutes of the game, he even got on the scoresheet.
Askey played a big part in the 3-2 win at Stevenage back in 1997 despite getting sent off.
